Hi eds,

Who is Barcelona looking at now that koeman has been sacked?

mfahmee2

{Ed002's Note - Pep Guardiola (C) Laporta would like to take Guardiola back and add Mbappe or Haaland next summer. I understand that Laporta has already spoken with Guardiola and his brother. It has been suggested that Guardiola would look to replace Luis Enrique after the 2022 World Cup. Barcelona will push when Koeman leaves but I suspect one phone call will end chances of it happening.
Joachim Loew (C) Will be in no rush to take on a club job just yet but number two to Gaurdiola on Barcelona's list. Very unlikely.
Roberto Martinez (C) has some support from the board. But there is an equal group against him.
Xavi Hernandez (C) The fans solution but lack of European experience will be an issue - too high risk and should continue in Qatar for a year or two more else Barcelona could need to make another change soon. But the likely solution - and a likely mistake.
Julian Nagelsmann (C) On the list but certainly won't be happening.
Antonio Conte (C) A safe option but personalities may clash - and the lack of funds will make life difficult. Very unlikely.
Albert Capellas (C) Would be seen as a bit of an wildcard - but don't lose sight of him as he will be more open to working with the youngsters.
Marcelo Gallardo (C) I doubt it right now - he has previously turned down the Barcelona job on more than one occasion but he would be on the list for them again - but they would likely get the same answer.
Eric ten Hag (C) If he were approached he would likely not be interested.
Domenec Torrent (C) lots of knowledge of the club and no longer tied to Guardiola - but would be high risk. Another wildcard.}

Ed2. In your opinion would Guardiola leave City for a Barcelona team in transition? From that outside looking in it strikes me as an odd move to make.

{Ed002's Note - Laporte wants it but as I explained Guardiola will not want to make that move.}

Ed you said that the plan for Real Madrid is for them to sign Mbappe this season and Haaland next season. now that benzema has sign new contract, do the plan with Haaland remain? or is it completely unrelated? Thanks.

mfahmee2

{Ed002's Note - It is unrelated.}

Hello eds, where can I find your post about a list of player real madrid interested in? the same list about their two year plan? Try searching in real madrid page but can't find it. Thanks.

mfahmee2

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea, I never look at the web site but it will be there somewhere - try searching the Real Madrid page for Vallejo - perhaps January or february.}

Found it, Thanks.

"Ed002's Note - The rebuild will be over two years and it is as I have explained in detail before. Real Madrid will be looking to refresh the side and the coaching staff over the next two years. They are looking to move on players such as:
Keylor Navas (G) who wants to move on but will drag it out to get the best deal – the club are happy to see the back of him and Klopp likes the idea of taking him to Liverpool
Kiko Casilla (G) will also be replaced as an upgrade is sought
Achraf Hakimi (RB) may also be sacrificed as he pushes, like so many kiddies, for first team football
Pepe (CB) still needs to be effectively replaced
Jesus Vallejo (CB) is attracting attention from Italy and again he wants game time
Fabio Coentrao (LB) who will leave in the summer after his loan ends
Marcos Llorente (DM) is restless but with Casemiro at the club options are limited – but Real Madrid want to keep him
Dani Ceballos (CM) a loan is likely before a decision is made but I still expect Liverpool to become involved in trying to strike a deal
Mateo Kovacic (CM) who needs to restart his career, perhaps in Roma
Luka Modric (CM) is getting on a bit
Toni Kroos (CM) is available and could be used in a part exchange deal
James Rodriguez (AM) is available to be sold if Bayern do not want to keep him
Martin Odegaard (AM/ W) will be made available – and should be a lesson learned
Marco Asensio (AM/ LW) is a player Real Madrid really want to keep but the player is miffed at not enough game time and plans to bring in two high-end wider players – talks already held with another side
Lucas Vazquez (RW) a loan is likely if he cannot be sold
Gareth Bale (W) is available to be sold or used in a part exchange deal
Ronaldo (F) perhaps 2019 rather than 2018 but possibly 2018
Benzema (S) signed a new contract but is available

They ideally want two goalkeepers this summer. One of David De Gea or Thibault Courtois and one of Kepa Arrizabalaga - who turned down a January move as he does not want to be second pick or Roma's Alisson, who Roma want a new deal with but could see Mateo Kovacic offered as part of a deal

Marquinhos (CB/ RB) was first choice to replace Pepe but looking less likely as his maturity is questioned – we'll see
Toby Alderweireld (CB) – Real Madrid would be willing to work Gareth Bale in to a deal with Spurs
Milan Skriniar (CB) - player not interest in move to RM to be a second pick and the asking price of €75M would scare of most sides
Yerry Mina (CB) – lost out to Barcelona for his signature

Marcos Alonso (LB) remains of interest to Real Madrid

Leandro Paredes (DM) well liked and for the right price Zenit will sell

Marcelo Brozovic (CM) – don't rule out an offer being made – and Atletico perhaps also putting a bid in
Maxime Lopez (CM) Real Madrid keep attempting to persuade Marseille to discuss the player but the lady from Marseille says no for now
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (CM) the asking price is scaring clubs off which is making Real Madrid think twice
Leon Goretzka (CM) decided to move elsewhere so thoughts have moved on

Nabil Fekir (AM) looks to be heading elsewhere to ensure game time but an offer could well be made
Juan Mata (AM) Real Madrid would take Mata in the summer but the expectation is he will extend his contract at Manchester United
Kevin de Bruyne (AM) Manchester City are aware that Real Madrid may turn to de Bruyne and will look to sign him to a new contract
Dele Alli (AM) I am told all Real Madrid interest has gone for now

Neymar (LW/ F) 2019 is more likely than 2018 but they may test the waters this coming summer
Eden Hazard (AM/ W) Real Madrid are very keen and want the agreement this summer – discussed with Chelsea
Ferran Torres (RW) will be a battle with Barcelona next summer – this has been brewing for a long time but player has been advised to stay where he is for now
Goncalo Guedes (RW) Real Madrid had mulled over the idea but he moved to Valencia before an offer was made
Mo Salah (W) the player’s agent has approached Real Madrid at the request of the player – Real Madrid may look to an offer as they know the player is keen
Julian Draxler (LW) option considered but little support for an approach and the player would likely resist as he prefers a return to Germany or a move to England or Italy – but this may still have some distance to run and I would not rule it out

Paulo Dybala (F) Real Madrid will look to make an offer but there is very serious interest from elsewhere
Anthony Martial (F) – was considered as cover only but I cannot see it happening
Antoine Griezmann (F) very, very unlikely and likely heading elsewhere

Harry Kane (S) unlikely unless a very significant offer is made, the player pushes for a move or Pochettino takes him along with him in his suitcase
Mauro Icardi (S) Real Madrid has a concern about the level of grief he and his wife may cause but will push for a move but there is a certain third party looking to become involved and engineer a move elsewhere
Robert Lewandowski (S) - player wants Real Madrid but they will look first to other options but don't rule him out
Lincoln Correa (S) Real Madrid, Barcelona and an English side have all spoken with Flamengo but given his age he cannot move anywhere for a couple of years. Clubs may take a chance on handing over a significant fee know and hope he continues to improve. Juventus are also showing some interest but have yet to approach his club.
Sergio Aguero (S) just can’t see this happening and an eventual return to Argentina eventually beckons, perhaps even via Atletico
Timo Werner (S) considered as an option by Real Madrid but would not be first pick

Is there any change or update on this as of right now Eds?

Based on the short time he has been with Liv, do you see any improvement in van dijk game Ed? also do you see any young centre backs right now that you think can be excellent cbs in the future?

mfahmee2

{Ed001's Note - there has been improvement in both his and Liverpool's game with him there. He has struck up a very good partnership with Lovren and that is more important than even having the best individuals. Teamwork is key at the back.

Giminez of Atletico and Uruguay is the outstanding young centre back around. I am sure there are others, but I just can't think of the top of my head.}
