I see totti has left roma ed1. Sad day for him and the fans I suspect.
I saw you mention the other day that you thought the Roma owner would screw the club up in some aspect. Is totti leaving down to him, and is there more to this?
{Ed001's Note - from what I can gather Totti has had enough, but as so many people hate Pallotta it is difficult to be sure they are not projecting their own feelings onto the situation.}

Out of curiosity eds. Did Francesco totti ever come close to leaving Roma, or did any clubs want to pay big to bring him elsewhere.?
I remember watching their 2001 title winning team and thinking back then he was class.
{Ed002's Note - Yes, he very nearly joined Real Madrid when in his late 20s. They ended up with Beckham as their big buy instead.}

Do you see certain parts of defending dying out or being forgotten ed?
Like you said they have no positional sense. Now do these modern coaches know how to coach this or are they not up to standard either?
{Ed001's Note - it will come back into vogue in time and then players will start needing to learn it once more. It goes in cycles, attacking is the be all and end all for a bit, then it gradually shifts back to defending, then goes back to attacking.
There are still some coaches who know how to coach it, there will be some coming through. In time they will be the ones in the ascendancy, as the game has already moved away from possession for possession's sake football in large part.}
