What do people here feel about Zidane's time in charge of Madrid?

Personally I am unimpressed, his team's play a terrible brand of football, which Rafa Benitez was hounded out for. They basically rely on individual genius to win games, which they can do as they have Ronaldo, but it is not good entertainment.

His team are up against no one, as Barca are in utter chaos, a shambles and Atleti are having a terrible season, yet they are still not sure of winning La Liga.

If he was anyone other than Zizou, he would already be looking for a new job.

{Ed002's Note - He may yet be replaced this summer - not winning La Liga or the Champions League will lead to some serious discussion about his tenure.}

Just like you said ed1, the team isn't performing at the level it should be with all the players he has at his disposal. Also he hasn't improved them that much than how they were under Rafa, just that he has been lucky. Avoiding big teams in the Champions League and Barcelona having are very poor season might see his team winning major trophies but he is time at Real Madrid has been pretty an inspiring.

Ed2 could you share with us who Real have in mind in case they part companies with Zizou at the end of the season.

Thanks

{Ed002's Note - They don't have anyone in mind but Mauricio Pochettino will certainly be considered.}

A little bit harsh considering that potentially they could go back to back on Champions League, a first in a very long time

But that's Real Madrid for you

{Ed001's Note - they are terrible to watch though shane. That is not how Real Madrid want their team to play, wholly reliant on one player pulling them out of the mess each week.}

Madrid is one of those teams where you can't make everyone happy, too much unrealistic expectations, they should concentrate on enjoying this moment since their keys players are getting older now and probably got another 2-3 years left in them

{Ed002's Note - You are right in that they know they will have some major rebuilding of the team in the coming years.}

It's been covered on the United site but how good are this madrid team with out the brilliance of Ronaldo.
Many hold them up as the standard to reach , but take 1 very good player out and they are half the team

{Ed001's Note - agreed mate. It is all about Ronaldo, which makes it all the more bizarre that the Madrid fans boo him!}
