Hey ed, just been wondering about james rodriguez, is there any interest in him with real willing to let him go? Cheers for any info

{Ed002's Note - Real Madrid did not want to sell James Rodrigues in January but they will listen to any bids made for the summer. Four clubs come in to the picture - Manchester United because they are seen as stupid enough to pay what most sides would see as way over the odds for the player; Chelsea as the player has suggested himself that he would like to play for them and live in London - but they won't be held to ransom and have other targets; Juventus - but he is one of several potential targets and their intersest is elsewhere; and Bayern Munich now that Carlo Ancelotti is heading there - again they won't be held to ransom. However, whilst the intention is that he will be sacrificed in the summer to raise funds, there are some significant things going on in the background that could have an impact on whether or not he will be leaving during 2016 - so we need to wait and see but I expect circumstances to be such that they may listen to offers. But they could block any move until the end of the window awaiting the outcome of a number of issues. His agent has spoken to three sides about James including Manchester City, Juventus and another English side to try and move things along. Manchester City have primary targets and would only turn to him if they miss out on one of those.}

Why have United become the stupid ones who will pay over the odds Ed? Due to being desperate or just inept when handling transfers?

{Ed002's Note - I have no interest in discussing anything related to Manchester United.}

No worries. Just thought as you made a comment, you might be willing to elaborate.

It's more to do with Utd paying whatever it takes to buy players aka desperation which is why ED002 said they are stupid. It's like going to buy a car that's worth £10000 but you pay £35000 for it. Hence stupid
